Pumpkin watercolor painting

About this painting: I created the interesting pumpkin skin texture by building layers of wet on wet paint with drying time in between each layer so I didn't get mud. When I added the final layer of wet on wet I also added a little table salt sprinkled on damp watercolor paint this creates a delicate flower-like spot. Each crystal of salt chases away the pigment to make a lighter area beneath it. You can use this for texture in many different kinds of watercolor painting. When the paint drys brush off all the salt.
