About this painting: I created the interesting pumpkin skin texture by building layers of wet on wet paint with drying time in between each layer so I didn't get mud. When I added the final layer of wet on wet I also added a little table salt sprinkled on damp watercolor paint this creates a delicate flower-like spot. Each crystal of salt chases away the pigment to make a lighter area beneath it. You can use this for texture in many different kinds of watercolor painting. When the paint drys brush off all the salt. Pumpkins 12x9 click here to buy All Work ©2006-2016 Art by Delilah
